We aim to discuss and address matters associated with biotechnology and/or innovations and society, i.e., the public and stakeholders. We hope to offer innovative methods and techniques in policy development and implementation and raise awareness of the industry among the public and stakeholders. We understand that this industry will not grow unless laypeople and stakeholders are part of the process and involved in the development of the industry and innovations across South Africa and Africa. Public and stakeholder perceptions of the industry are crucial and, if not properly addressed, may have dire implications for this industry. We are committed to educating the public and stakeholders, upholding the public and stakeholders’ human rights, advocating for the benefit of the public and/or stakeholders, and encouraging laypeople and stakeholder engagement to help benefit the industry.
