Winston is currently the Coordinator of research Ethics (Animal Use, Biosafety, and Permit Compliance). He has more than 12 years of experience as a Research Manager (Animal Ethics and Biosafety respectively).

He also currently serves on the National Department of Environment, Forestry and Fisheries: Aquatic Animal Ethics Committee (Sea Point Aquarium), the Western Cape Government, Department of Agriculture: Animal Ethics Committee (Elsenburg), the Cape Peninsula University of Technology Animal Ethics Committee and is a member of the South African Bureau of Standards: Working Group SANS 10386: 2008, that was responsible for the revision of the standard. He also currently serves as an ethics educator and consultant.

His role in the company is to focus on ethics training and consulting; human capacity development; public engagement; and the development of training manuals, accreditations, and quality control.
